OPEN LETTER TO MR TONY OKOROJI AND OTHERS WHO SEEK TO UNDERMINE PMAN'S CRY FOR JUSTICE

Mr Tony Okoroji, the new PMAN greets you as a veteran Nigerian entertainer and elder.

We saw your recent post where you talked about certain colleagues of yours in PMAN attempting to use the platform of PMAN to contrive a dispute with the Minister of Information & Culture and to seek to blackmail and terrorize him using language that is very unbecoming of our once great association.

Sorry to disappoint you but nothing of that sort is coming from the new PMAN.

PMAN intellectual property has been infringed upon and we want justice.

The new PMAN has been and will always be for the best interest of the Nigerian entertainment industry, hence the plan we came up with to FINALLY do what past PMAN administration could not do.

We have come up with a plan aimed at PUTTING A PROPER STRUCTURE IN PLACE FOR FUTURE NIGERIAN ENTERTAINERS TO REAP FROM THEIR CREATIVITY.

THINGS YOU DO NOT KNOW:

PMAN met with the minister (You were not there) and discussed plans for a creative industry conference, an anti piracy campaign amongst other things. The minister responded with a letter of partnership and series of email correspondences with the Ministry of information regarding action plan and timeline

So we were pained to see the minister executing our plans (without us in tow). If that is not disrespect I do not know what is.

You know what the words copyright infringment mean.

You know what plagiarism means.

Our property has been infringed upon and we have every right to take LEGAL action and that is already being done.

The new PMAN has no time to peddle foul words against a government official.

If you are truelly a fighter for Nigerian entertainers you will know what that means.

Because the new PMAN is ready to legally fight anyone who tries to steal from us. Especially when it comes to finally putting a proper structure in place to regulate royalty payment and make it transparent for all entertainers to see.

The new PMAN are not busy bodies who go about poking their nose in other peoples businesses.

Nobody at PMAN will disrespect any minister. We know about due process and we are already doing what needs to be done legally.

You are a veteran musician and understand what it means for your intellectual property to be used without your consent , let alone stolen.

We have proof of our plans, minutes of our meetings and discussions with the minister of information. All will be made available when necessary.

When the so called agency you said brought the plans to the minister came, where you there sir? because according to your account of events you only knew about the Ministers plan when you attended the conference, then a few days later you were appointed the Chairman of the Ministers Anti Piracy Committee ? Amazing

Mr Okoroji, many greedy and selfish people have milked and are still milking the Nigerian creative industry and fattening their personal pockets because we lack structure.

We lack the structure that will enable us protect and regulate interllectual properties and royalty payment.

These people know that a structure will stop their constant embezzling of monies that is supposed to be going to Nigerian entertainers.

It will expose the fact that they are not paying Nigerian entertainers what they are supposed to be paid.

They know that this structure will enable record labels, artists, movie makers and the rest get their royalty direct, so they do anything to stop PMANs initiative

They are the ones who are always quick to shout that PMAN is at war with themselves.

Well PMAN is together now with registered Trademark and we are working to make the music pay the creators of the music and not telcos and collective bodies who do not pay artists what is rightfully theirs.

PMANs intellectual property has been infringed upon and that is the issue PMAN has with the minister of information.

Not with the creative industry summit which is an item amongst others deliberately taken from our proposal, our brain child.

Not with you Mr Tony Okoroji.

You spoke because you were angry. Well we hope now that you and others who read your angry outburst (aimed at the wrong people) have been enlightened about the true situation and facts Henceforth you should channel your anger in the right direction.

#JUSTICEFORPMAN #SAYNOTOCOPYRIGHTINFRINGEMENT #SAYNOTOPLAGIARISM.

PMAN does not speak out of anger, greed , disrespect or selfish interest.

The new PMAN speaks with proof and with the sincere interest of the future of Nigerian Creative industry at heart.
